Soaking

The hot springs and soaking offerings of New Mexico are unlike anything else in the country. All of these are within driving distance of Santa Fe, and are highly recommended.

  1. Jemez Hot Springs - our favorite mineral composition. Very low key, not a big resort.

  2. Ojo Caliente - Classic NM hot springs resort, you can enjoy the many pools under the cliff side with a day pass.

  3. Ten Thousand Waves -Japanese style onsen on the mountain to the east of Santa Fe.

  4. Ojo Santa Fe - Beatiful, tranquil soaking retreat right in town. This would be a nice spot to stay if you had an extra few days.

Dancing and Movement

  • The Hut - The NEW center of latin dance in Santa Fe. All the classes are very beginner friendly - Zouk, Tango, Salsa, and Feldenkrais.

  • 10th Planet Santa Fe - If you want to get some no-gi jiu jitsu mat time in.

  • The Chi Center - We haven’t been here, but we hear good things.

Eating

Santa Fe has many good food options, and the guides cover the more well known offerings. Here are some of our favorites if you need help deciding.

  • OZU - a little eatery in the Lena district serving bento boxes, onigiri, and great selection of teas. Very aesthetic. Be aware: It’s only open 11a-3p W,Th,F,Sat.

  • Cafecito - Beautiful, plant filled Argentinian restaurant. Great for a late breakfast. Latte’s and empanadas 🥐

  • Montanita Coop - the local coop grocery store, a 20m walk from the railyards so could be a good place to get Lunch and Snacks on the workshop days!

  • Dolina Bakery and Cafe 🥧 Our current favorite spot for a sit down brunch. Get there early for the delicious pastries!

  • La Mama - Delicious small plates after 5p. The charcuterie board is one of the best we’ve had.

  • Pho Ava Vietnamese - Our favorite pho in town.

  • Pho Kim - Our second favorite pho in town.

Nice Cafes to Sit and Do Work

  • Ikonic Red - spacious, light filled cafe perfect for laptop work.

  • La Mama - Scandinavian style cafe close to the plaza with open seating 8a-5p, then sexy dinner setup 5p-8p.

  • Ikonic Lena - A more cozy ikonik cafe, good for reading as well as laptop work.

  • The Bread Shop - a MUST try bakery in the lena area. Cute pottery studio next door. NOT good for working. Don’t bring your laptop.

  • Ikonic Guadelupe - The most hidden little ikonik cafe. Better for reading and conversations.
